Arabian Gulf Oil Company is managed by a Management Committee chaired by Mr. Mohamed Belkacem Ben Shatwan, comprising a team of national experts with extensive experience in management, operations, exploration, and engineering.
The Chairman and members of the Management Committee at Arabian Gulf Oil Company are appointed by a decree from the National Oil Corporation (NOC). The Committee oversees the execution of the company's strategy and the achievement of its operational targets through effective management and collective decision-making, ensuring performance efficiency and sustainable production.

Biography
Mr. Mohamed Belkacem Ben Shatwan brings over four decades of experience in the oil and gas sector. His distinguished career began in reservoir engineering and advanced through numerous leadership positions at Arabian Gulf Oil Company and several other oil companies.
He possesses extensive knowledge in reservoir engineering, production and development operations management, and strategic planning for oil projects. This is complemented by exceptional executive management skills that have enabled him to efficiently lead complex teams and large-scale projects.
Mr. Ben Shatwan has served as Chairman of the Management Committee at Arabian Gulf Oil Company since 2023, having previously held the same position from 2013 to 2022. He has also held several other prominent roles, including Chairman of the Owners Committee at Wintershall since August 2023, Chairman of the Owners Committee at Mellitah Oil & Gas since 2025, Chairman of the Management Committee at Mediterranean Oil Services Company in 2021, Chairman of the Management Committee at Akakus Oil Operations from 2013 to 2020, and Board Member at Ace Oil Libya from 2016 to 2021.
