Objectives of the Workshop

The primary objective of the workshop is to highlight and assess the hydrocarbon potential of the Cyrenaica region through the following key activities

Reviewing the current understanding of the subsurface geology and petroleum geology of the Cyrenaica region-
Establishing geological and petroleum correlations between the Cyrenaica region and neighboring areas-
Investigating and evaluating the history of hydrocarbon exploration activities in the region-
Reviewing exploration methods applied in both offshore and onshore areas of Cyrenaica and adjacent regions, and identifying the key factors that have contributed to improved exploration success rates

These objectives will be addressed during the workshop through a series of technical presentations and discussions delivered by invited speakers and contributing authors

Themes of the Workshop

Theme 1: Geology, Petroleum Geology, and Basin Analysis

Overview and correlation of the subsurface geology of the Cyrenaica region and neighboring areas-
Review of the petroleum system elements within the target regions-
